What is PHP?

PHP is a widely used server-side scripting language. The initials stand for Hypertext PreProcessor.  This is one of our preferred scripting languages, because it is widely supported.

If we are building a custom web application for you (or adding a pre-built application to your site) this is most likely the language we will use. This language does not require the site user to have anything special installed in their browser, since all program processes take place on the server.
