What is Search Engine Optimization?

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the art of creating search engine friendly web sites that appear for the search terms you are targeting. Search engines use complex mathematical algorithms to determine which sites come up for which searches. Search Engine Optimizers have discovered what search engines consider most important in the algorithm in order to assist in getting web sites top rankings, for their desired key search terms (a.k.a. keywords).

Search Engines constantly and consistently update and change their algorithm to get rid of irrelevant results and provide their searchers with the best results possible. After all, search engines are designed for the searcher, not the success of one web site. 

While optimization can be very helpful in many instances, there are no guarantees with this service. What a major search engine considers important today, could change tomorrow and send your site plummeting to the bottom of the results.  Likewise, a change in the algorithm, could also send you from #999 to #1, but who'd complain about that?  While we recommend using basic optimization techniques and offer this service to our clients, we strongly encourage everyone to use other methods of gaining traffic to their web sites and not relying on the whims of a service that they have no control over!
